SANTFA Forums
A new feature of the SANTFA site is Member forums. We know that all of our members have great knowledge & experience with No-till farming, so we have provided an online "white-board" can not only choose to share this information but can also post questions that other members can view and as a community, hopefully assist.
The aim of a Forum is to be conversational - just as the way you would discuss issues of interest with other farmers over the fence, or at a field day or the like. The aim of the Forum is to catch these conversations and get this very useful information available for all SANTFA Members.
Do not feel that you need to be too formal or gramatically correct, and our suggestion is to write in a similar style as to how you construct a mobile phone SMS message.
Typically most messages are fairly short - between one & three paragraphs in length - which means that they are quick & easy to both write and read. However there will clearly be times when more detailed information is required, and there is absolutely no restrictions on how long your messages can be.
Posts are moderated (forum terminology) which means that they need to be viewed by a SANTFA Administrator who then authorises the content for member release. Please note that moderation will be performaed ASAP, but this may take up to 5 working days.
Member Restricted - although the general public can view the structure of the Forum, they can only view the titles of messages - not the full content.
Forum Terminology:
- Forum - simply means a group of people with a common interest, in this case the Forum is SANTFA members.
- thread - this is the term for the actual message content you have created. Any Member can respond to a single intial message with their own response (ie a sub-message), and subsequently any members may then respond to these messages (ie a sub-sub-message) and so on. The term thread is used to indicate a message path that may be one or a multitude of messages, that always lead back to the intial message.
- post or posting - this is the process of actually submitting a message to the Forum. It is analagous to the real world process of posting a letter at the mailbox!
- subscribe or subscription - again, it is analgous to the real-world scenario of subscribing to a newspaper or magazine. In this case Members can choose to subscribe to any of the Forums, and by doing so they will automatically receive an email message whenever a new posting is made to that Forum.
Can you Help?
If you have any question regarding NTF (materials, geography, machinery, etc.) you can post your question to this forum where other members can view and hopefully assist.

This is the forum to post any short & sharp useful pieces of information that you have regarding your No-till experiences.
Knowledge Base
This is the forum to post other useful pieces of information (in greater detail than Tips ∓ Tricks) that you have regarding your No-till experiences.
This is also where Can You Help? postings will be transferred once they have been answered (hopefully quickly!).
